DENIS ZARDI, pianist and composer, divides his artistic activity between solo and chamber music, playing for the most important concert companies in Italy, Europe, the United States and South America. He has collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the Camerata Musicale of Pisa, the «Francesco Durante» of Naples, the Chamber Orchestra of Padua and the Veneto, the Mariani Ensemble and LaCorelli Orchestra of Ravenna.

Student of M° Mauro Minguzzi, graduated with honors, praise and special mention at the Conservatory «A. Boito» in Parma. He was perfected with M° Alfredo Speranza, M° Piernarciso Masi and later at the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” of Imola under the guidance of M° Franco Scala. In 2003 he completed the two-year specialization at the European Conservatory of Rotterdam in the class of M° Aquiles delle Vigne graduating with honors. He studied composition with the Masters Cesare Augusto Grandi and Adriano Guarnieri at the Conservatory «G. B. Martini» of Bologna.

At the same Conservatory, in 2020 he completed his two-year specialization with top marks, honours and special mention in Analytical composition under the guidance of M° Paolo Aralla. Among his compositions, the 24 preludes and three piano sonatas stand out, the Suite for piano duo four hands, the Trio for violin, cello and piano «Scacciaspiriti», «Barocco contemporaneo» for violin and harpsichord, the Sestetto for wind instruments and piano commissioned by the Emilia Romagna Festival, «Breath» for flute and piano, the “Concerto” for piano and orchestra.

As a solo pianist he has won over 20 first prizes in national and international competitions, distinguished by performances of Schumann, Liszt and Rachmaninoff. He has participated in the Irving S. Gilmore Keyboard Festival in the United States, performing at several concerts and following lessons from Masters Russell Shermann and Gary Graffman.

With the Young Symphony Orchestra of Rotterdam he performed the «Prometheus» by Scriabin within the «Gergiev Festival».

The artistic partnership with the violinist Roberto Noferini, with whom he won first prize at the International chamber music competition «Duo Hayashi» of S. Vittoria in Matenano. With cellist Andrea Noferini he recorded a record for the label Tactus of Bologna dedicated to Rossini. He collaborates with the flautist Filippo Mazzoli, with whom he records for the DaVinci publishing label.

With the Ensemble Istantanea of Bologna he devotes himself to contemporary repertoire, addressing both new unpublished scores and historical pieces of the ‘900. Recent is the artistic residence with M° Salvatore Sciarrino at Area Sismica in Forlì.

Currently a piano teacher at the «Buzzolla» Conservatory of Adria, he was previously a teacher at the «Franci» Institute of Siena, at the «Tomadini» Conservatory of Udine, at the «Cantelli» of Novara and at the «Tartini» of Trieste.
