Ana Novo was born in La Coruña, Spain. Having graduated from the Conservatory of Music in Oviedo, she moved to Madrid to study with the pianist and teacher Ricardo Requejo, a person who greatly influenced her education. Their ten-year-long cooperation, which started in Madrid, continued later in San Sebastián.

Ana worked further on her piano practice under such renowned  professors as Baskhirov (at the Isaac Albéniz Musical Studies Centre in Santander), Irina Zaristkaya, Voskresensky, Antonio Baciero, Josep Colom, Guillermo González, Almudena Cano and others. At the same time, she attended many courses on such topics as analysis, musical forms, improvisation, memorizing, 21st century music, and physical and mental preparation.

Ana won the Second Prize at the “Casa Viena” young pianists competition in Oviedo.

She formed a piano duo with Madgalena Velasco. They have given various concerts including one with the Symphony Orchestra of the Higher Conservatory of Music in Oviedo where they performed “The Carnival of the Animals” by Saint-Saëns.

Ana also studied Law and holds the title of “University Expert in Cultural Management” from the University of Oviedo. Thanks to this, along with her teaching work, she was invited by the same university to give lectures on “Musical Management” to students in their final year of Law.

In the field of management, she promoted and with others moderated the Musical Theory and Practice Seminars entitled “Beethoven in his Piano Sonatas” and “Transcription and Performance of 17th-18th Century Music” at the University of Oviedo. She is currently introducing a number of educational projects with the aim of includng music in various social and cultural environments. This involves coordinating and managing work related to organizing concerts at schools, kindergartens and community centres.

Ana is a piano professor of the Higher Conservatory of Music in Oviedo, a post she received after winning the open competition.
