alberto veintimillaBorn in Alcublas -Valencia (Spain)-, he obtained his Bachelor of Music in Clarinet from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and furthered his musical studies with different professors of the international scene.

Alberto has performed with several orchestras which include, Sinfónica de Madrid (Arbós), Sinfónica “Odón Alonso”, Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Sinfónica de Oviedo, Virtuosos de Moscú and Filarmónica de Gran Canaria. As a soloist, he has performed Mozart’s clarinet concerto, C.M. von Weber’s concertos and had the privilege of premiering Jorge San Julián’s Concerto for clarinet and orchestra.

An active chamber musician, he often performs with pianist Purita De la Riva and Trio ClaPiaChelo. He was a founding member of The Contemporary Music Group of Oviedo’s Conservatoire and the ACM Ensemble. Alberto regularly conducts the CONSMUPA’s Clarinet Ensemble (since its foundation in 2014) and has several recordings of different musical genres and with different ensembles such as, Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra, Trío Clapiachelo and Xaréu Folk.

Alberto has given masterclasses and lectures at numerous Conservatories in Spain and abroad. In 2002, he obtained a Ph.D. in Musicology from Oviedo’s University with distinction "cum laude" given unanimously for his doctoral thesis on Clarinetist Antonio Romero y Andía (1815-1886). His articles have been published in academic journals and relevant forums. Besides, he takes part in thesis examination panels, and often leads doctoral thesis as well as research works.

On behalf of CONSMUPA, Alberto was appointed member of the Consejo Superior de Enseñanzas Artísticas en el Ministerio de Educación where he was a key member in the formulation of the Real Decreto 631/2010 and a member of the group in charge of legislating documents and annual reports regarding the current artistic situation in Spain. He was also a member of the Governing Council of the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias and of the Board of Directors of the Asociación Española de Centros Superiores de Enseñanzas Artísticas. Since 1990, he holds the academic responsibilities of Head of Department, Head of Music Studies, and Principal of the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Eduardo Martínez Torner" (2004-2014).

In March 2017, professor Alberto Veintimilla earned The Oviedo’s Conservatorie Clarinet Chair where he keeps devoted himself to train well-round musicians. He is currently immersed in a pedagogical project Consciencia Sonora in collaboration with Asturias University which focuses on the development of new tools to approach clarinet teaching.
